Just another Edublogs.org weblog
Here’s a couple of links for different science skits that I found. Many teachers use my songs in skits that they find or make up. You can find them at cdbaby.com/rickquarles, on iTunes, and on my free podcast (http://scienceonthewildsideshow.libsyn.com, it’s also available on iTunes). I’ll list more interesting and creative sites as often as I can. I welcome input from anyone out there in the blogosphere that has found some good sites. Creative Lessons create learning and fun!

Science On The Wild Side – Podcast #52 – Salute To Komodo Dragons My name is Rick Quarles and I’ve been a science and social studies middle school teacher for 15 years (mostly 6th grade and several years in 7th grade). I enjoy doing creative lessons with my classes with a lot of hands on activities. I’m a musician who writes and records science and social studies songs and I sell them at cdbaby.com, iTunes, and many other internet sites. I do a free, biweekly 10-12 minute science podcast with news, facts, creature feature, and an original song (http://scienceonthewildsideshow.libsyn.com). I’ll post the latest one on this blog each time as a preview for any interested bloggers. It’s been listed and recommended by the National Science Foundation at its funded Applied Math and Science Education Repository (amser.org) website as well as the book Educator’s Podcast Guide by Bard Williams. I’ve had over 33,000 downloads of my shows during the last 2 years, March 2006-April 2008, (it averages about 3500 downloads a month and increasing). I enjoy doing skits, labs, activities, games, and other creative things with my students. I’m always open to ideas to make my classroom and learning even more fun and I have plenty of things I’ve done to share with other teachers. Comments from the blogosphere are welcome. I’d love to become part of (or even start) a community of teachers sharing ideas on lessons as well as technology. Hope to hear from my counterparts throughout the world as well as students, parents, and any other people with similar interests.
